Philippians 2:12-13

  • Philippians V. 12b “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. “

Some think that after we put our trust in Christ we are not fully secure in our salvation. We must work to insure our place in heaven. The Bible is very clear when we believe what Christ has done and accept Him we  become sons and daughters of God.

  • v. 12 implies now that you are in Christ, live out your salvation.

When a person goes to medical school and completes 8 years of schooling, then graduates, he/she becomes a doctor. I asked my doctor jokingly if he was still is practicing medicine? He told me he is applying medicine. We, too, are applying life of faith in our practice. By the way, my doctor is intrigued of my practice of faith.

Dr. Charles Stanley puts it this way. “Work out (our) salvation “means” we need to reverently live out what’s already been given to us.” We won’t be perfect but Christ who lives in us is perfect. SO LIVE IT UP FOR HIM.

  • v. 13 “For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”

This is our Graduation Diploma. Jesus said in Mathew 5:13-16 ” You are the salt of the world”. “You are the light of the world”. Don’t lose your saltiness. Don’t put your lamp under a bushel. Let people see your Jesus and believe.

Let’s get salty and bright.
