Out of distress I called upon the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can men do to me? The Lord is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust princes. Psalm 118:5-9
Throughout this week, I have seen many posts stating, “No matter who wins this election, God will still be on the throne.” That is the truth, and as Christ-followers it is our responsibility to live that truth. To practice that truth we need to realize that no Republican, Democrat, or Independent candidate can save us from this World. Although it may seem like one candidate has or is going to perform better than the other, no politician will be able to fix this nation. The Psalmist had made it clear that we need to take refuge in the Lord God Almighty for he is the only person to fix this nation and to fix this earth to set us all free.
The Lord is on our side, therefore no politician or government official can destroy what we hold true to.
